Aquatic Therapy
PREGNANCY
Aquatic Therapy is particularly beneficial during pregnancy. Mothers are able to relax deeply while experiencing a similar environment to their baby. This opens up another level of communication between mother and child. Through movement, visualisation and intention we track the developmental stages of the baby in the womb, while also supporting the mother's emotional and physical process. Becoming a mother is an immense rite of passage, and probably the most important role in society. Time in the water prepares you for birth and parenthood - across mind, body and spirit.
BENEFITS
- Releasing stress, anxiety and fear
- Soothing physical pain and discomfort
- Assisting sleep difficulties and exhaustion
- Deeper breathing
- Softening and opening the pelvis and hips
- Offering preparation for water birth
- Practicing the felt experience of surrendering the body
INFERTILITY
Aquatic Therapy offers the nervous system deep relaxation and rest. This may support the stress many women experience while trying to conceive. At a deeper level much more is often occurring. The warm water environment can feel womb like. This creates an invitation to sense into your own womb and reproductive system. As we gently step into this unknown space, revelation and healing commonly unfolds. The warm water environment, and session exploration may also invite healing around the role of mother, and the fear and emotions stepping into this role may evoke at a conscious and unconscious level.
“The water's gifts are profound, offering learning and healing around trust, surrender, softening, fear, intimacy, creative flow, birth, death, our interconnectedness and receiving greater love. As a guide, I hold a space of compassion and emergence inviting you to connect deeply with your felt experience in this moment. From that place so much is revealed.”

Services
There are many options for how we can explore your pregnancy together. Multiple sessions offer the opportunity to go deep into the process of following your baby's development whilst simultaneously honouring your journey to motherhood.
Aquatic Therapy sessions are held at the hydrotherapy pool in the Wellness Centre at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC) in Albert Park. This spacious, therapeutic pool is heated to 34.5°C and in a separate location on the third floor. Day, evening and weekend times are available. It’s suggested that you allow space for reflection and integration after the session.
The water is love.
